Cherubs is an outreach children playgroup set up many years ago as the Church discovered that post natal depression was quite common amongst new mothers. It is a free service for pre-school children and their parents/grandparents or carers where the children can play and the adults can socialise together. The group is supervised by volunteers most from St Andrews church (one other lady attends a different church) on a rota system taking a turn every 3 weeks. Refreshments are provided free and the children receive biscuits and sometimes fruit. At Christmas Easter and Harvest time, these festivals are celebrated in church with all the children and parents attending. At Christmas the children are asked to dress up as a shepherd or an angel and they all receive a gift and a visit, from Father Christmas. At harvest the parents bring food, supplies which are taken in church. Recently more child minders attend in place of parents probably due to parents working. Attendance is between 30 - 40 children.
